Scientific Advisory Committee Member

Dr. Shyh-Dar Li is a leading expert in pharmaceutical sciences, currently serving as the Angiotech Professor in Drug Delivery at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He earned his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed postdoctoral training at the Moores Cancer Center, University of California, San Diego. His research focuses on nanomedicine, developing advanced drug delivery systems using lipid and polymer-based nanoparticles, particularly for cancer treatment.

Dr. Li’s work has made significant contributions to enhancing targeted drug delivery for difficult-to-treat diseases such as brain cancer, where he has pioneered drug technologies now in clinical trials. He is also deeply involved in studying cell-penetrating peptides (CPPs) to improve the efficacy of therapeutics. His research has been funded by organizations such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Beyond research, Dr. Li actively mentors students and collaborates across academic, industry, and government platforms to drive innovation in drug delivery
